⚠️ WHAT IS THE POWER OF SUGGESTION?

The power of suggestion is extremely powerful.

So powerful that we often believe what we are told about ourselves and about life — without questioning it.

We accept it.We believe it.We live it.

🧠 WHY WE ARE SO SUGGESTIBLE

The human mind is highly suggestible.

It is:

  • Pliable

  • Influenced easily

  • Shaped by external input

We are taught what to believe —and we often accept it as truth.

🌍 SUGGESTION IN EVERYDAY LIFE

As adults, we are constantly influenced by suggestion:

  • Experts and authority figures

  • Partners and relationships

  • Trends and social expectations

  • Marketing and advertising

  • Influencers and social media

  • Political messaging

These influences shape:

  • What we think

  • What we believe

  • How we behave

⚠️ INFLUENCE AND MANIPULATION

Many systems rely on suggestion to influence behaviour.

  • Marketing encourages us to buy

  • Influencers encourage us to follow

  • Politics encourages us to align

Suggestion is often used to serve others — not necessarily us.

🧠 NOW CONSIDER THE CHILD

Now imagine being a child.

  • Open

  • Trusting

  • Completely dependent

With no ability to choose:

  • Who influences you

  • What you are told

  • What beliefs are formed

🖤 THE SUGGESTIONS WE RECEIVE

A child absorbs everything.

Statements like:

  • “You’re not good enough”

  • “You can’t”

  • “This is who you are”

become internal truths.

These suggestions are:

  • Accepted

  • Believed

  • Embedded

⚠️ NO CHOICE IN EARLY PROGRAMMING

A child does not have free choice in what is suggested to them.

They do not choose:

  • Their environment

  • Their caregivers

  • Their beliefs

They must accept what is given —because their survival depends on it.

🧠 SURVIVAL OVER TRUTH

If a child challenges what is suggested to them,it can feel unsafe.

So the mind adapts:

To agree is to survive. To question may feel like danger.

🔁 HOW THIS SHAPES US

Over time, these suggestions form:

  • Our beliefs

  • Our thoughts

  • Our behaviours

  • Our emotional responses

We begin to live out what has been suggested to us.

⚠️ A CONFRONTING REALISATION

When you truly understand this, you may begin to question:

  • Are these beliefs truly mine?

  • Did I choose who I am?

  • Do I have control over what I think and feel?

🧠 THE LIMITATION OF CHOICE

If everything we know has been suggested to us,then our choices are limited to what we already believe.

We can only choose from what has been programmed into us.

🌿 WHY WE REPEAT PATTERNS

This is why we often:

  • Stay in unhealthy situations

  • Repeat behaviours that don’t serve us

  • Struggle to change, even when we want to

Because we are operating from what we have been taught to believe is true.

✨ AWARENESS IS THE FIRST STEP

Understanding the power of suggestion creates awareness.

And awareness creates the opportunity for change.

🦋 FINAL MESSAGE

Who you are today was shaped by what was suggested to you.

Who you become nextis shaped by what you choose to question, understand and change.
